Maruti Suzuki has launched a new variant of Celerio, Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour H2 in India. The new car aims to cater to the cab aggregators has been priced at Rs 4.21 lakh.

According to a report of AutocarIndia, the Celerio Tour H2 is based on the LXi (O) variant of the hatchback and comes with the same styling and features as the regular model. In addition to this, the Celerio new variant also gets the speed-limiting device as standard to comply with the new government regulations that mandate the taxi to come with a speed limiting device.

Besides this addition, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio Tour H2 shares its 68hp/90Nm, 1.0-litre, three-pot petrol engine and five-speed manual transmission with the Celerio. As it is based on the hatchback’s LXi (O) trim, it shares all the features, from the driver’s side airbag to the naked steel wheels. The LXi (O) trim, at Rs 4.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) is priced about Rs 13,000 higher than the Tour H2.

The new taxi variant of the Celerio will come in Pearl Arctic White and Metallic Silky Silver.

There are as much as five drink holders inside the taxi variant of Celerio along with integrated headrest, manual air conditioning, pivot type outside mirrors and electronic power steering. Other important features are amber illumination colour, accessory socket, black dial type climate control, urethane steering wheel, etc.It is claimed to have extra driving comfort for the ease of the occupants during long-distance travels. Another significant safety equipment is the driver side airbag which is only offered as option in the base variants of the standard range. Maruti Suzuki also emphasises low ownership cost and fuel economy as they are integral factors for taxi owners.

The exterior looks basic as the entry-level Celerio with notable features being body-coloured bumper, blackened Outside Rear View Mirrors and Outside Door Handles, ‘Tour H2’ sticker badge, and body-coloured rear door garnish among others.

With the demand in the cab sector increasing, the Celerio Tour is sure to add to Maruti’s volumes.
