Chinese company Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched mid range smartphone Honor 9 Lite in India. Featuring dual rear and front cameras, along with a Full View display, the Honor 9 Lite caters to the budget audience with a price-tag starting at Rs 10,999. It sports a dual 2.5D glass design, and runs Android 8.0 Oreo.

The Honor 9 Lite price in India is set at Rs. 10,999 for its 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant, while the 4GB RAM/ 64GB variant is priced at Rs. 14,999. Both variants come in three different colour options, including Sapphire Blue, Glacier Grey, and Midnight Black. They were launched in the country on Wednesday.

Honor 9 Lite sports a 5.65-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC is clocked at 2.36GHz and paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

The phone features dual-camera setups at the back as well as the front. The setup includes a combination of 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. The rear camera comes with PDAF autofocus and LED flash.

The smartphone is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery, which Honor claims can deliver up to 20 hours of talktime on 3G, and a standby time of up to 24 days. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and micro-USB with OTG support. On the software front, the phone runs EMUI 8.0, based on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box.

“We are very delighted with the opportunity to showcase Huawei’s Honor brand on, and to bring the Honor 9 Lite to the Indian customers right after the China launch before any other market globally,” said P. Sanjeev, Vice President, Huawei Consumer Business Group, in a press statement.

The Honor 9 Lite went on its first-ever flash sale in India exclusively on Flipkart on January 21 as part of its ongoing Republic Day sale. The phone got listed at around 12 noon and unsurprisingly, went out-of-stock within a matter of seconds – 180 seconds according to one report. However, if you were unable to buy the phone in the first flash sale, you can wait until the next flash sale which will take place on January 23 on Flipkart.
